I have been hybridizing daylilies since around 2000 but don't consider myself a serious one. I work with both tetraploids and diploids. I usually don't use much rhyme or reason and don't do much research when I cross two daylilies! I just look for something that I find pleasing to the eye, has nice habits and that I feel might produce something unique. I am currently focusing on patterned eyes and blues but I mostly just enjoy the feeling that I get when I first see one bloom for the first time no matter how it turns out.
